Elevation of Kambachen – 4050 m | 13284 ft
Here is one more and final rest day during Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek on Kambachen. Idea is to held trekkers to adjust on high alpine region of northern hemisphere. As we will be gaining enough height on next two day to reach north base camp, it is almost mandatory to have one rest day in Kambachen right after rest day in Ghunsa. It is also room for examining hikers whether they are developing any kind of symptoms related to high altitude sickness. It is important to identify because trail ahead is difficult and passes through higher elevation. Even evacuation from section of Pangpema is difficult in compare to Kambachen and Ghunsa. We will spend most of the time premises of teahouses where as late afternoon we can just walk around Nupchu River Valley to keep ourselves active. Remember this is final acclimatization and day after tomorrow on Kanchenjunga North Base Camp we will face highest elevation of entire trip, so if you are not feeling well don’t force yourself to hike up instead you can wait in Kambachen or we will left one porter so that you can try next day to Lhonak and Pangpema.
