David Trubridge had recently trekked Kanchenjunga North Base Camp with us. He was with his two sons Sam and William. They had trekked from the end of September to the mid October. William had took his Masimo Pulse Oximeter with him, here is his data from the trip. This was a teahouse trek and was guided by our regular guide Narayan.
On favor of teahouse options in Kanchenjunga David wrote – “Our hosts in Ghunsa are a lovely Tibetan couple who share their home with us for our meals. Also living there is Ganga, their grand-daughter. Her father is an expedition cook whose Sherpa sister once climbed Everest twice in a week. They have a selection of Buddhist shrines whose glittering lights fail to compete with the TV alongside. We feel it is such a privilege to be able to enter homes in this way and reflect on how much those who trek with tents miss out on.”
